Conditions
General conditions
- The fund supports individuals and organisations working for non-profit motives in the local to national interest
- The project must address a priority issue or problem relevant to Namibia. This can be at the local, regional (within Namibia) or national levels
- The work must be based in Namibia, and funds must be disbursed in Namibia
- Applications in the range of N$15,000-40,000 per project per year will be funded, for a maximum duration of three years, unless specifically commissioned by the fund to continue for longer
Other aspects the fund will consider when awarding grants:
- Profile of the project and public appeal
- Publicity around the project and the extent to which this will raise awareness of the Go-Green Fund and Nedbank Namibia's support to the environment
- Willingness of the grant recipient to host bank, client and media visits to the project and to participate in media events
- Importance of issue or problem being addressed by the proposal
- Catalytic nature of the proposal and its likelihood of leading to bigger things and attracting further funding
- Extent to which in-cash and/or in-kind contributions are made by the applicant
- How securely the project idea is placed within the broader ecological and social settings
- Value for money
The Go Green Fund will (as a rule) NOT support the following:
- attendance of people at conferences, workshops and meetings
- stand-alone purchase of capital items (vehicles, computers, etc)
- investment in permanent infrastructure (offices, accommodation, etc)
- pure interest research
- bursaries and scholarships – Nedbank Namibia has a separate bursary scheme
- social development - Nedbank Namibia has a separate fund for this
