| During the year under review the bank’s financial year-end changed from 30 September to 31 December. Consequently the financial statements 1998/99 cover a 15-month period and are not directly comparable with the results for the previous 12-month financial year. This commentary mainly refers to year on year actual results. Information based on comparison with previous year’s 15-month pro forma results is given in brackets. Where necessary ratios were also restated based on those 15-month pro forma results. | ||||
