Anti-Money laundering campaign

As a Nedbank Namibia credit card user, you are aware that the Nedbank Namibia credit card product is issued and administered by Nedbank South Africa and as such falls within the ambit of South African Anti-Money laundering legislation, the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001 ("FICA"). With the recent expiry of the deadline on 31 May 2005 for the re-verification of affected credit card holders as prescribed by FICA, legislation now stipulates that banks are required to place restrictions on those accounts that have not yet been re-verified. If credit card account(s) of an affected client as at 20 June 2005 were not re-verified despite our attempts to contact such clients via mail and telephonic campaigns in order to re-verify their details, the Act stipulates that we are legally required to place restrictions on such credit card account(s). This action will inhibit our clients' ability to transact. Accordingly, as from 20 June 2005, restrictions will be placed on these credit card accounts. To lift the restrictions on affected credit card accounts, and to ensure that affected clients can continue to transact, please contact the Nedbank Verification Centre at tel: 061 - 295 2608/ 295 2620 to make arrangements for the re-verification of your clients' details.

Get ready for the Nedbank/ Polytechnic 10th Anniversary Cycle Race 2005!

The Nedbank/ Polytechnic 10th Anniversary Cycle Race 2005 was announced on 8 June 2005. Nedbank is proud to partner with the Polytechnic of Namibia with its 10th anniversary. The Polytechnic has chosen to arrange a cycle race as part of its anniversary activities, mainly because cycling is the fastest growing sport in the country and it is very well organised with professional and competent organisations in charge of it. Cycling is further an activity with which the Polytechnic, as a lean and efficient organisation, would like to be associated, and Nedbank Namibia has been involved in and associated with for more than 15 years. The Nedbank/ Polytechnic 10th Anniversary Cycle Race 2005 will take place on Saturday, 24 July 2005. The race will be a fun ride, and we invite occasional riders as well as serious riders to participate. There will be a lot of lucky draws at the prize-giving for the cyclists, which will include a 51cm TV, a DVD, a cordless telephone, a return airticket to Johannesburg or Cape town with Air Namibia, a meat hamper, and various other prizes by the many co-sponsors. A colour HP DeskJet printer and a 3-in-1 OfficeJet printer will be given away as prizes to the 2 schools with the most entries! For further information, you can visit either the Nedbank Namibia website at www.nedbank.com.na, or the Polytechnic website at www.polytechnic.edu.na

Internet banking payments

The once-off payment facility on Internet banking is unfortunately not available to Nedbank Namibia clients. This means that while in the past, clients were able to do once-off payments through electronic banking, all beneficiaries are now to be added to your profile.

Service Plus toll-free number

For your convenience, we have a toll-free Service Plus number. Please feel free to call us about any queries or questions, or simply call to tell us what you think about our service levels, our products, and our people. Call the customer service line toll-free on 0800 000 115.

Price changes

In the past we have implemented our pricing changes with effect from 1 July each year. The good news is that this year the changes to service fees (including debit orders and magtapes) have been put on hold until further notice. A pricing brochure stipulating the prices in more detail will be available to all our clients in due course. However, with effect from 1 July 2005 there will be increases in certain of our bank charges, including the increase of unauthorised overdrafts from N$35.00 to N$70.00. While some prices have increased, others remain the same. Please note that the increases are the general maximum increases and may differ for individual clients. (These increases will be on par and competitive with other banks.) If you would like more information on your specific detailed charges, you are encouraged to contact your relationship manager or personal banker. We also recommend that you always ask for a quote before doing any 'out of the ordinary' or specialized transactions. As of 1 July 2005, all the new maximum fees will be displayed in the Nedbank Namibia banking halls. They will also be available on the website at www.nedbank.com.na

Re-ordering of chequebooks

We would like to advise you that chequebooks can unfortunately not be ordered via the Internet. You should continue to apply for your new chequebook at your branch personally, with the form available in your chequebook, as the bank can regrettably not re-order chequebooks automatically. Re-ordering takes 5 working days. We are working on a better system in this regard.
