Overview
Nedbank Namibia depends on its people. As a bank known for service, it is the efforts of every one of our people that enable us to succeed. In response to the dedication and enthusiasm of our people, and to ensure we retain their services, the bank has a sophisticated human resources policy in place - one that focuses on making Nedbank Namibia a preferred employer, one that rewards performance and supports initiatives for personal development. Career path planning is a proactive process in full consultation for individual employees.
The bank employs over 380 people who all benefit from a well-defined set of criteria for performance evaluation and achievement. We focus on recruiting, developing and promoting competent individuals.
An apprentice programme for school leavers, mainly from previously disadvantaged groups, provides on-the-job training, structured as customised modules that cover each area in the bank. In the course, apprentices acquire in-depth knowledge of banking operations, while earning a market-related salary. People who complete the course and wish to pursue a career in banking are encouraged to study further.
Promising candidates, mainly from previously disadvantaged groups, can apply for bursaries to study banking-related courses at the University of Namibia.
If you already have a BCom or similar appropriate qualification, you can enter the accelerated trainee programme in various specialised fields in the bank.
Various merit award systems pay tribute to outstanding performance, encouraging highly professional contributions in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
